When does an ordinary object cease to be ordinary? How do you give matter new meaning? Where does observation end and creation begin?
This is the space where I work.
My name is Weronika Chrząstek. I am a visual artist, designer, and curator. I am interested in what is hidden beneath the surface of things—emotions, tensions, associations, and meanings that are not always visible at first glance. I observe, interpret, and transform. I combine conceptual thinking with working with matter, creating forms, objects, and works that take on their own character and identity.
I have many passions—I love listening to music, cooking, traveling, and seeking out experiences that move me emotionally, as well as making sure the little things make everyday life more interesting. However, art is the one thing I cannot imagine my life without. For me, it is much more than just the creative process or its final outcome. It is about encounters, exhibitions, people, community, and the exchange of ideas, but also a space for continuous discovery and bringing something into existence that was not there before. I enjoy thinking about projects, searching for their form, and watching them gradually take on a tangible shape. The ability to bring visions of objects from my imagination into reality gives me a sense of fulfillment unlike anything else. In my creative work, I am interested not only in an object’s appearance but also in its character, physicality, symbolism, and the emotions it can evoke. I like to seek out the essence of things and translate it into a synthetic, often abstract form.
I am a person who:
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to what we currently know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world.”
— Albert Einstein
