Can an engineer create art? Definitely yes!
My name is Ewa Tomasik and I am a master engineer of landscape architecture. Since 2018 I have been working as a graphic designer under my brand toma.to design. Through my studies and work as a graphic designer, I discovered my love for design.
Eager to find new inspiration, I travel quite a lot, which contributed to the development of another passion – photography. Although at first photography was just an opportunity for me to catch memories, I felt it could be something more.
The greatest value for me is freedom. Both the one in life and the one in creation. For a long time I have been looking for an opportunity to express myself in a way that does not limit me, that is not locked into a socially defined framework.
I spend my free time actively. Most often I take a mountain kayak with me and explore the mountains of the world from the perspective of the river. Communing with nature and physical exertion allow me to refresh my head and catch inspiration for further creative activities. If the kayak turns out to be too heavy I take my backpack and go on mountain hikes conquering the highest peaks of many a country.
Since childhood, my favorite color has been yellow. Maybe this is due to the fact that I loved white chocolate. Now I definitely reach for dessert more often 😉
My adventure with art photography began with frequent travel. At first it was just an opportunity to record memories on a memory card. Over time, it became a passion that I turned into my artistic form of expression.
In July 2023, I graduated from the School of Creative Photography in Krakow, receiving a diploma as an Artist Photographer. Through my studies, I felt that photography is something more. It is an art!
Undoubtedly, my greatest joy is working with people and showing their emotions through portrait photography. Another direction close to me is the creation of original conceptual projects. As a versatile artist, I like to combine photography with other fields of art. Then I feel that a given project is more than just a series of photos.
