My name is Helena. I have worked in a school library for fifteen years and occasionally teach Polish. My passion is literature and history.
I am a very empathetic person, I love contact with other people. What makes me stand out from the crowd is the vintage style. Some people say I was transported from another era. I am a traditionalist. I make use of this feature by being active in the Świdnica Historical Reconstruction Association.
Ever since I can remember I have been singing and I have been honing this talent in the ‘Tactus Sonus’ choir. Apart from that I am absorbed in writing of all kinds: music reviews, short stories, lesson plans, book reviews on my blog (‘The Old Style World’), and closest to my heart is creating poetry. It was just in August that my debut, titled ‘The new world’, was published. “Zan(d)urzenie” of which I am very proud.
I associate immersion with getting inside someone’s head and thoughts, and of course I link infatuation with falling in love. I wanted the title to be that little bit provocative and at the same time give the reader a choice, open up room for their own interpretations. It’s also a bit of a result of the fact that these two states are intertwined in my poetry, they are close to me and I want to express them in words.
I can see that people like my poems, so I intend to publish many more books.
In my spare time, I volunteer because I believe that helping and giving our time are the best gifts we can give to humanity. This is why I share my time by reading children’s stories and publishing them on my YT channel.
