Karolina Karo Glaser

I have always been passionate about creating. Ever since I can remember, I have felt the need to channel my expression in all sorts of ways. Writing is my innate and most intimate form of expressing thoughts.

Im making my dreams come true!

After millions of stories written down as a child and tucked away in dusty drawers, I managed one day to fulfil my bold dream of creating a book. I deliberately use the word create rather than write, as it required me not only to be constantly inspired and inspired on this magical journey, but also to have enormous mental strength to wade through the complex space of my creativity. Finally, though, I got to the last word in the book and finished it. The novel “Wszyscy jesteśmy tu szaleni” saw the light of day in July 2022, thanks to the publisher “Insignis”. It describes the lives of teenagers living in two parallel worlds: Daydream and City of Sinners By participating in the adventures of my characters, I was able to explore the nooks and crannies of this fantastic world. The city, as well as the characters in it, were not invented through intellectual effort – they simply appeared uninvited in my head one day with the demand to write down their story.

I love prose, however, I am experimenting with other forms of writing. Poems appear at the beginning of each chapter in my book. It is, for me, the quickest and least restrictive way of putting thoughts to paper. I am also passionate about playwriting. In 2018, together with the theatre troupe ,,N.A.P.A.D”, of which I was a member at the time, we staged a play based on a script of mine entitled ,,Nie zadzieraj z Rodzanicami” , inspired by Slavic mythology. The premiere took place in Poznań at the Zamek Cultural Centre. That’s when I discovered that what I write can also appeal to others and I started to be bolder with my art.

A few years later, in 2021, a film was made ,,O czym myślisz” as part of the “Ale Kino!” festival, also based on a script I wrote. The production tells the story of a girl who wields telepathy. I had the opportunity to play a supporting role and also assist the director during the shooting. I recall it as an amazing adventure, albeit full of many adversities and lessons that taught me a lot.

When creating, I try to get to the core of the problem that catches my attention and describe it with magical elements. The fantasy present in my work is a way of depicting the conflicts the characters face.

On more than one occasion, while finishing a writing session, I came to various reflections on the reality around me. I would like to wish for every writer who pours his thoughts on paper to be taught about themselves and other people. I hope that creation with a pen will one day become a common practice for expressing one’s emotions, so that in everyday life we can name our feelings freely and be able to get along with each other in this strange world.
