I am a germanist, literary scholar and university lecturer with more than 20 years of experience. Nine years ago I started my journey through life with B.K.S. Iyengar yoga, in search of work-life balance in general. I was led to the mat by a longing for Work-life-Balance.

From the first moments of working with my body – with movement and breath – I felt that this was exactly the activity I was looking for. My body relaxed on a completely different level and I became calmer, more focused and more efficient over time. When it turned out that long years of undiagnosed stage 4 endometriosis stood in the way of my motherhood, it was yoga with elements of therapy that helped me through life’s difficult moments, but most importantly postponed my next surgery, minimising the discomfort from the endometriosis. After starting yoga, and also a specialised diet, consistent with the concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine, supplementation, herbs, as natural therapies for endometriosis, I experienced an incredible improvement in my quality of life: complete cessation of menstrual pain, support of the digestive system, weight loss, improvement in overall quality of life. After this positive experience of changing my life, my diet, and working with my body, which until then had been a source of sadness and suffering for me, I decided to share my new experience other women. In 2018, after the success of the first yoga workshop on women’s health from the perspective of Iyangara yoga – “The female cycle and yoga” – I initiated, in cooperation with Poznan holistic therapists Magdalena Wisniewska and Małgorzata Tomaszewska-Cichocka, a series of consecutive stationary events under the motto “Endometriosis – the art of living with yoga and diet/acupuncture”, in which ladies from Poznań, Wielkopolska, as well as Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław, Konin, Kalisz, Świebodzin and Zbąszyń participated.
It has become my passion to share with women affected by endometriosis, but also with those interested in holism, my own experience of living in balance despite health burdens through natural therapies such as B.K.S. Iyengar yoga and diet according to the TCM concept. My own health challenges and those of the women I met inspired me to grow as a person. I deepened my knowledge during thematic yoga workshops on women’s health – with Katarzyna Pilorz, Monika Salitra, Paulina Stróż, Konrad Kocot and with world-renowned therapists Lois Steinberg and Rita Keller. I have also completed training on women’s health from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective.
During the Sars Cov-2 pandemic, I ran an online class for women, ‘Yoga Practices for Women Online’, which was quite popular. To this day, the people I met in 2021 are still practising with me online.
Critical to my journey of looking holistically at women’s health and life is the recognition that I have come to appreciate my own story, including the story of my own body, precisely because of yoga as a source of support not only for myself but also for other women. A passion that feeds not only me, but also serves others, gives great joy and a sense of fulfilment.
